THE STYLE COUNCIL Modernism: A New Decade (1989)

This is what would have been the last THE STYLE COUNCIL album but was rejected by the band's record company.
wiki: It represented a departure from the band's core genre of pop, to a new one; deep house, which was then being referred to as "garage" (as in Paradise Garage) music by the UK press. However upon its completion in 1989, it was rejected by their label Polydor, which led to the band breaking up. It was eventually released in 1998 on the box set, The Complete Adventures of The Style Council. A separate release was released in 2001.

JOY DIVISION Complete Best Ofs (2013)

There are several Best Of JOY DIVISION compilations circulating.
I have four - and as I mentioned in the last post, I listen to JOY DIVISION quite alot at the moment.
I copied all the songs from the various Best Ofs into one folder and deleted the ones with the lowest bitrate if I could choose between different versions from the different compilations.

This is what came out...
In alphabetical order to release the songs from the "predefined-album-tracklist-feeling".

EnJOY...

WARSAW (pre JOY DIVISION) (1978 / 1995)

NEW LINK

Sorry for the long delay...
But I was both disappointed concerning fileshare servers that suck really and very busy as well.

At the moment I listen to JOY DIVISION alot and I thought I might delight you with a little bit of Punk history.
Before they renamed them, JOY DIVISION called themselves WARSAW.
Pretty punky compared to the later stuff that was more gothic.

JAMES GRANT In A Broken Dream (2013)

Itunes:

Ebay auction of original artwork by Dave Kirkwood, proceeds to Teenage Cancer:

Info:

From James' Facebook:
In A Broken Dream
I did this as a Twitter/FB thing - bit of fun, record a cover version.. did it in a day in my kitchen. The idea for the song was suggested by Dave Kirkwood who I was involved with on the fantastic 3hundredand65 project in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust http://www.3hundredand65.co.uk/
The original is such a coruscating slab of rock, I felt I had to approach it differently.
There was something about it when I recorded it, I don't know, just felt like I'd captured,"something". I thought, why not release it? I've given away plenty of free downloads, why not see if folk will pay 50p, a quid, whatever..for it. Let's see what happens.
I had to get in touch with the original publishers, never having done anything like this before, so I sent them it. They called me right away and said that they loved it - that's why it's taken so long..been talking to them. As I say, we'll see..
It should be ready for download by the weekend, I'll keep you posted obviously.
It's a digital only release and will be available on itunes, amazon, 7digital, Spotify etc. etc.
Dave Kirkwood is a fantastic artist, he very kindly offered to do the artwork.
I think it's stunning.
This is a one-off. I've decided to auction this on ebay, all proceeds go to Teenage Cancer Trust. I'll sign it if the winner so wishes..http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130851237361
