Another one from the brilliant CABARET VOLTAIRE under the alias of THE PRESSURE COMPANY performed as a support for the Solidarnosc movement in Poland. Very strange performance and heavy stuff for hardcore collectors.
One of my favourite CABARET VOLTAIRE singles - with the original artwork.
Including the Bonus Remix 12" of course.
I really enjoyed this record. I still was living in my parents' home then and they did not enjoy it... Neither my presence (referring to my begetter or "father" or "the Antichrist") nor my favourite music.
As an avowed Mod I am not very much into Rockabilly. But somewhere in my soul I am probably a Rod/Mocker - and I'm not the only one in my posse.
This is a fantastic Rockabilly album by an artist who's a.k.a. Sasha - known in Germany at least. He recorded this under the alias Dick Brave and the Backbeats - inspired by the name Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
It contains cover versions of songs you will all know.
My favourite one is "Walk This Way"...
DICK BRAVE AND THE BACKBEATS Dick This! About 12 years ago I figured out that I was stuck in a marital mess and a dead end street.
So I separated and got divorced from my wife.
But before that I tried to detect the things I did wrong in my life - and why I was punished with that woman. So I started to write down almost everything I could recall. Starting with primary school until what was my "today" back then.
I called the story "SCHEISS DRAUF" which could be translated like "NOT GIVING A FUCK".
And it turned out to be incredibly funny and actually quite interesting - at least for me and my friends.
And furthermore I learned that I was quite deeply involved into the Hamburg music scene as most chapters dealt with music in one way or another.
Most of my friends wanted to read the story of course and that was the point when I decided to post the stuff on my first ever blog.
SCHEISS DRAUF (Postcard of Scootland - Scots'n'Mods) German!
And whenever music was mentioned in a post I'd offer the specific songs as a download in the following post.

The recording was made with a stage mic and an amp mic and I synchronised them. And with a little bit of EQ here and AMP there the sound is not that bad.
I heard some news recently about an new band called VELETTES, who formed out of the ashes of THE BRIGHTS that I mentioned in earlier posts between April 2011 and October 2012.
The first bands that came to my mind when I listened to the promotional material were SAD LOVERS AND GIANTS and THE CURE - which to me is a perfect combination.
There is an EP release confirmed and scheduled for March so I will definitely keep you updated.
In the meantime I suggest you to check their YouTube channel here and download their first single "Wild Flowers" on Amazon or iTunes.
PLUS: The boys from VELETTES have been so kind to offer YOU READERS a download. A song that is available for the first time ever NOW and HERE!!! I have listened to it on my way to work (yes, I do have a job) today as it is new to me as well - and I love it. Wonderful - play it loud!!!
last year it was the 100th anniversary of the wonderful "World War 1 Christmas Truce". And I could bite my ass that I forgot. But this year I saw a documentary called "WW1 In Colours" from the BBC and it really touched me. So this year's post is about the miracle that happened 101 years ago when soldiers refused to fight and sang corals instead and played soccer together in no-man's land between the trenches in Belgium and France.
I am not very religious but I believe in the good in man - when it really comes to the Point.
THE FARM's "All Together Now" from 1991 is about this night, when the decided not to fight.
Remember boy that your forefathers died Lost in millions for a country's pride They never mention the trenches of Belgium When they stopped fighting and they were one
A spirit stronger than war was working that night December 1914 cold, clear and bright Countries' borders were right out of sight They joined together and decided not to fight
All together now All together now All together now In no man's land, together
The same old story again All those tears shed in vain Nothing learnt and nothing gained Only hope remains
All together now All together now All together now In no man's land, together
The boys had their say, they said no Stop the slaughter and let's go home Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go
The boys had their say, they said no Stop the slaughter and let's go home Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go home
All together now All together now All together now In no man's land, together
